tudents, teachers, professors, along with all school staff and volunteers are invited to a special worship service, asking God’s blessing upon our children and all the amazing people who make education possible. You are encouraged to invite new neighbors, colleagues, classmates; anyone who would appreciate some encouragement and prayer at the beginning of the new school year. See below for a few important dates, reminders, and opportunities to help your family get ready for a new season of learning, faith, and fellowship.

Godly Play: More Space, Summer Hiatus & Artwork Pickup
Our Children and Youth Committee has been hard at work preparing the Godly Play room for a new year and creating a special space for our older children (3rd–5th graders). To make these improvements possible, Godly Play will take a break during August and will resume on September 13. We also have many wonderful creations displayed in the hallway outside the Godly Play room—most with names attached! We kindly ask families to take their children’s artwork home by the end of July so we can make room for new creations in the fall.

Please complete a new participation form for the coming year. You can fill out and sign the form online by clicking here or complete a paper copy in person at Godly Play or Youth Group.

August 2: School Supply Drive Deadline
August 2 is the final day to bring donations for the School Supply Collection to church. We will pray for the students who will receive these supplies, and after worship, volunteers are invited to help load donations into vehicles.

September 13: Kickoff Sunday
Kickoff Sunday marks the beginning of a new program year at SPC! During 10:15 am worship, Bibles will be presented to our 1st and 3rd graders, and households with children in grades 3–5 will receive a special book to support faith formation at home. Following the Time with Children, families are invited to a Godly Play Open House to explore the refreshed space and learn more about the year ahead. Later that day, youth in grades 6–12 and their families are invited from 4:30–6:00 pm to our Youth Group Kickoff for games, fellowship, an introduction to this year’s program, and dinner together.
