olunteers and friends of First Place Swarthmore are warmly invited to share in food and fellowship as we celebrate God’s generosity throughout this ministry. Over three years, First Place Swarthmore provided housing, hospitality, and care to thirteen families, 53 children and adults who arrived in the Philadelphia area from Guatemala, Afghanistan, Syria, Congo, Somalia, and Venezuela. In that time, over 100 volunteers from the church and surrounding community gave their time to make this possible. We are beyond grateful for this witness to the love of Christ for our newest neighbors, and it is high time to celebrate and give thanks!

On Saturday, October 17 we will delight in time together, including some of the families we helped relocate and with whom we have continued to stay in touch and support in many ways. Our meal, prepared by one of our FPS families as they work towards building a catering business, will include various traditional Afghan dishes. Please join us. All ages are welcome!
