A New Space & Expanded Care

B

eginning Sunday, May 24, our Sunday morning nursery will move to Fellowship Hall—and we’re excited to now have two dedicated staff members caring for our littlest ones each week. We deeply value the presence of families with newborns and toddlers, and we are grateful for the generations of parents who have helped provide a loving, safe nursery experience. Recognizing that our previous space and coverage model were not fully meeting families’ needs, our Children & Youth Christian Formation Committee has been working thoughtfully to strengthen the hospitality and sense of belonging we offer each Sunday.

Our nursery (for newborns through toddlers) will now be located in Fellowship Hall, set up with child-safe fencing and floor play mats. This new location will be easier for new families to find, more convenient for parents who wish to check in during the service, and will create more opportunities for the congregation to connect with our youngest members during fellowship time. The space will also be available for parents who may need to step out of worship with their children.

Kiersten Connell continues to be at the heart of our nursery ministry, and we are delighted to welcome Manny Castro to the team. Manny grew up in this community and brings a warm, welcoming presence, along with experience working with children in a variety of settings. While volunteers may occasionally be needed when one of them is away, this expanded staffing will greatly reduce the need for parents to step out of worship to serve.

With gratitude to all who have helped make these important updates possible, we look forward to offering a more welcoming and supportive experience for our families each Sunday.
