t is with thanksgiving and in honor of Earth Day that we share the news that Swarthmore Presbyterian Church has been officially re‑certified by the denomination as an Earth Care Congregation. In 2025, the Session committed to renewing this certification, reaffirming our pledge to consider environmental stewardship in key areas of our life together, including worship, education, facilities, and outreach. As part of the re‑certification process, we reflected on the inroads we have made and renewed our promise to continue this work. You may have noticed some of the changes over the past year, including reusable name tags and planning toward composting food waste. We are grateful for the ongoing commitment of church leadership to thinking creatively about how we can honor this pledge, and for all of you, as together we strive to cherish, respect, and restore the creation God has entrusted to our care.
