his Sunday, SPC welcomes Rev. Dr. Anna Carter Florence, Peter Marshall Professor of Preaching at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. Anna will present core aspects of her approach to reading scripture from her latest book, Rehearsing Scripture: Discovering God’s Word in Community. Anna will share her enjoyment of working with text, offering both youth and adults a mini-workshop in the process.
Adults are invited to continue the conversation at The Broad Table Tavern from 7:45-8:30. Anna will give a talk on rehearsing Scripture consisting in two parts:
- part 1, Anna will lead a workshop/presentation using theater rehearsal methods with the youth, while parents and any interested adults are welcome to “listen in” and overhear this.
- Part 2 Conversation with Anna will continue with adults at the Broad Table from 7:45 – 8:30 pm. Anna will also sign her newly published book, Rehearsing Scripture.
