“There are varieties of gifts, but it is the same Spirit who gives them. There are different ways of serving God, but it is the same Lord who is served. God works through each person in a unique way, but it is God’s purpose that is accomplished. To each is given a gift of the Spirit to be used for the common good. Together we are the body of Christ, and individually members of it.”
– from the “Statement on Ordination”

O

n Sunday, February 26, we will be ordaining and installing those who have accepted the call to serve as our Ruling Elders and Deacons beginning in March. It is a liturgy rich with questions and commitments, congregational promises of support, and the laying on of hands by elders and deacons with whom these new officers will serve and those who have come before them. Will you plan, please, to be here to affirm the “energy, intelligence, imagination, and love” that these servants bring to their ministry? The liturgical color for ordination, as for Pentecost, is red, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, so wear a touch of red this morning!

Reception in Fellowship Hall
Parish Life will be hosting a reception in Fellowship Hall following worship (yes, there will be cookies!) and invites us all to greet and thank our newest church leaders in person.
