Deacons Invite Dedications

D

o you take a few minutes on Sunday mornings to read the remembrances and tributes printed in the SPC worship bulletin? Do you have someone you would like to honor or hold in memory? An anniversary to recognize? A thanksgiving to offer? Flower dedications are a wonderful way to do that and can be made at any time. The flowers, provided by the locally owned Swarthmore Flower shop, are present in our Sunday morning worship spaces. Deacons then deliver the flowers to church members who are experiencing illness, a recent death, a significant life change or celebrating a special joy. The suggested contribution is $60 to help cover the cost of the flowers. It is meaningful for those who read these dedications and a blessing to the recipients of the flowers, which serve as tangible reminders of God’s love and this caring community of God’s people.

Interested? Please click here to contact Deacon Lee Leming. Lee welcomes your remembrance or tribute and will want to know when you want it published. The contribution to the flower fund may be sent separately – either by check or online payment – directly to the church office. Lee coordinates with Patrice Smith (Bulletin Editor) to make certain that your dedication is published and with Jean Noon (Finance Coordinator) to ensure the processing of your contribution.
