n Saturday, July 18, Minister Alex Evangelista was examined by the Presbytery of Philadelphia to be ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament. Alex stood in front of those gathered for the quarterly meeting of Presbytery as the Commission on Preparation for Ministry and Membership invited him to share an autobiographical statement and a personal Statement of Faith. The Moderator then welcomed examination questions from the floor of the presbytery, Alex answered questions from Presbytery Commissioners and Clergy about his statement of faith and his ministry, after which the presbytery voted to recognize Alex as successfully examined and prepared for Ordination.

Ordination!
It is a joy to celebrate with Alex this important step in the journey to Ordination as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the P.C.(USA), which will take place in Alex’s home church, Iglesia Presbiteriana Nuevas Fronteras, in Plainfield, New Jersey, on August 15. As an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament, Rev. Alex Evangelista looks forward to officiating the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and the Sacrament of Baptism along with the many other elements of worship that he already leads.
