› Installation of Officers – Again!

“We are all called into the church of Jesus Christ by baptism and marked as Christ’s own by the Holy Spirit. This is our common calling, to be disciples and servants of our servant Lord. Within the community of the church, some are called to particular service as deacons, as elders, and as ministers of the Word and Sacrament. Ordination is Christ’s gift to the church, assuring that his ministry continues among us, providing for ministries of caring and compassion in the world, ordering the governance of the church, and preaching the Word and administering the sacraments..”

O

n Sunday, March 27, we will be installing the following church officers: Jim Audley (Elder), Betsy Ffrench (Deacon), Connie Gilday (Elder), and Gary Williams (Elder), completing the process begun a few weeks ago. The questions we ask of them, our promises of support, and the laying on of hands (by those with whom they will serve and those who have come before them), are powerful reminders of the great trust and authority given to our church leaders, and our affirming witness to their call.

Reception in Fellowship Hall and the Courtyard
Parish Life will be hosting a reception in Fellowship Hall and invites us all to greet our newest church leaders in person, enjoy the music, and contribute a few words to a project through which we are all asked to think about where the Spirit may be leading us in the year ahead. Hot beverages and refreshments will be available in the Courtyard.
