riday Flix of the Month will conclude the program year with The Last of the Blonde Bombshells featuring the incomparable Judi Dench with a brilliant supporting cast including Olympia Dukakis. Dame Judi plays the part of Elizabeth, a recent widow, adjusting to the new normal of widowhood, when she reconnects with her musical past. During World War II, she was a gifted saxophonist in an all-female band that played for the troops. She then sets out to reunite the members of the band so they can play again for a special event. The movie moves back and forth between her current life and the band’s adventures during the war in England.
