oin us this Sunday for a conversation about US military culture, how to extend hospitality to the veterans in your life and our community and being a mental health advocate for those within and having served in the military. We will be joined virtually by the Rev. Dr. Chase Wilhelm, a friend and classmate of Pastor David.

Rev. Dr. Chase Wilhelm serves as the Chief of Chaplains for the Illinois Department of Corrections, overseeing all non-uniformed chaplains working for Illinois. He also serves in the United States Army Reserves and has recently returned from a deployment to Syria. He has also served a combat deployment in Afghanistan and extensively throughout Eastern Europe. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology, History, and Ethics from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University, where his dissertation title was, ‘God Suffers from PTSD…” He also holds a Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary and an M.Div. from Eden Theological Seminary. He is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Chase has a 2-year-old daughter named Margot and is married to Dr. Lyndsey Heise, an infectious disease physician and Brigade Surgeon in the Illinois National Guard.
