Moment for Stewardship: Children & Youth Ministry at SPC

by Rev. David Norse Thomas

L

ove reaches into the lives of children, youth, and families through the ministry of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church. Growing up is hard, and young people need to know they are loved for exactly who they are, not because of what they can achieve. Each Sunday, our children learn and experience that God loves them, and draws close to them, that their big questions are valued and important, and that the adults in their lives like them for exactly who they are.

This love reaches out beyond our congregation through our day camp with our Nursery Day School. Our elementary school kids are reminded and sent with backpack tags proclaiming how much we are loved. Our teens invite their friends to be a part of youth group, and our ministry supports Montreat Youth conference and Camp Johnsonburg, reaching beyond our congregation. We send our children and youth out into classrooms, onto teams, and into neighborhoods with a love that reaches out to their friends with a confidence that comes, not from what their accomplishments, but is rooted in the God and community that loves them unconditionally.

Thank you for supporting our Children & Youth Ministry through your financial pledge, so that God’s love reaches children, youth, and families in our community and beyond.

We hope this information will help you in considering your annual pledge to the ministry of SPC.

As you prayerfully consider making your financial pledge, we invite you to reflect on our 2025 “Moment for Stewardship” videos.
