warthmore Presbyterian Church’s Music Ministry is proud to sponsor an upcoming string quartet performance by students from Nazareth-based nonprofit Polyphony Education. The organization aims to bridge the divide between Arab and Jewish communities in Israel through excellence in western classical music education and performance, and to serve as a worldwide model for cooperation based on cultural exchange, dialogue, and partnership. This performance is free and open to the public. The concert will feature the Mendelssohn String Quartet No. 1, Op. 12, Mozart Duo No. 1 for Violin and Viola in G Major, as well as works by Bach, Hindemeth, Gliere and Dvorak. A Q&A with Polyphony’s co-founder and executive director, Nabeel Abboud Ashkar, will follow the concert. For more information and to RSVP, click here.
