Volunteers and food donations needed!

L

ong-term outreach partner, Chester Eastside, is buzzing these days with hot meals for guests (Open Table) three days a week, the Food Pantry two days a week, a new Out of School time program called Kids First every day of the week, the Open Closet clothing closet once a week, and a garden that needs tending! Many hands with different abilities are needed. What can you offer? Perhaps an hour and a half to serve food or sit and talk with a neighbor. Perhaps a couple of hours to assist trained teachers as a volunteer during the afternoon. Perhaps a garden hoe and a shovel, with the desire to dig your hands in the dirt and find something growing. Any and ALL of these are helpful! Or perhaps you have time to add a few extra supplies to the cart during your regular grocery run, or even to donate funds so that these supplies can be purchased. Please see the list below of what food items are currently needed. If you want to learn more or to sign up, please call the Chester Eastside office at 610-872-4812 or view their online volunteer page by clicking here. You can also email Rev. Sarah Cooper Searight at SPC by clicking here and she can point you in the right direction.
