“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” – Philippians 3:10, 11

ypically, in the Lenten season, we spend time in the Gospels accompanying Jesus through various parts of his ministry—as he rejects temptation, teaches disciples, and acts in ways to both heal and call to account those who would listen. This year, we will focus our five weeks in Lent more intensely into the latter portion of Jesus’ ministry, those stories that more often come to us during the five days of Holy Week. As we encounter Jesus and his disciples in these texts, the question arises, “What is Our Response?.” And the responses are telling—Mary’s devotion as she anoints his feet, Judas’ betrayal, Joseph, and Nicodemus who come to Jesus late and in secret. Please join us in this Lenten walk through Holy Week, as we explore together the response of the people around Jesus during this intense time in his ministry, and wonder together what response Jesus evokes within us during the intense time in which we live now, and in which we are called to continue to witness to the faithfulness of God with us.
