he Welcome Church in Philadelphia is a unique congregation that proclaims the hope and love of a gracious God to all people, especially individuals experiencing homelessness. Founded in 2013, it offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of their housing status. The church conducts outdoor services in public spaces, providing spiritual support, community, and practical assistance to those in need. They focus on creating a supportive community, advocating for social justice, and addressing the challenges faced by people without homes. The ministry’s compassionate approach aims to foster dignity, respect, and belonging for all individuals, offering a place where everyone is accepted and valued.

SPC will join Welcome Church for worship on Sunday, December 31, on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at Aviator Park, outside of the Franklin Institute. We will be driving down in the church van, distributing snack packs, inviting folks to worship, helping read liturgy, and hosting a coffee hour. All are welcome to be a part of this special event to mark the end of 2023. Please RSVP by texting or calling Pastor David at 503-880-1546.
