T

he Salvation Army’s New Day Drop-in Center in Kensington (a community partner to SPC) provides warm meals, clothing and toiletries to women who are mostly homeless, often addicted to drugs, and often trafficked. The Center needs wintry weather clothing and personal hygiene supplies. For the next few weeks, Swarthmore Presbyterian Church will collect new and gently used winter coats, jackets and jeans, new scarves, hats, gloves and mittens, and new socks and underwear and toiletries. Because so many of these women are malnourished, clothing is mostly needed in small sizes. Donations will be welcomed in the Outreach Center on Sunday mornings and throughout the week when the office is open (Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm).
