Moment for Stewardship: Pledge Dedication Sunday

W

e are thankful this week for the bounty of generosity through which the people of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church support the work that God has called us to do in this time and place. Sunday, November 12, was a joyful day as we dedicated the pledges received thus far in our 2024 stewardship campaign, all of which will support our worship life, Christian formation, care of buildings and grounds, and love of neighbors within and far beyond our walls. For every pledge and person behind it, we are grateful.

If you have not yet made your pledge, please take a few minutes in the coming days, as you think about the things for which you are most thankful, to make your personal financial commitment to the work of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church in 2024, helping us to close the gap between what we have received thus far and what we need to accomplish in our ministry next year. No amount is too small or too large. For more information on what it costs to run this church, read this letter from SPC’s Treasurer and Director of Business Administration. View the Moment for Stewardship videos created by SPC members and staff to share in their own words and voices, the many reasons and feelings behind the call to give generously.

2024 Stewardship Campaign Update

From the SPC Business Office: As of November 10, we have received 201 pledges totaling $608,993, which is 71% of the way towards this year’s pledge goal of $860,000. We also have 69% of the congregation who have already pledged, committing more for 2024 than they did for 2023. Your pledge enables this body of Christ to make bold plans for what we can discern and do together in 2024. Thank you to all who have submitted your pledge. We appreciate your support of SPC!

Make your pledge today for a chance to win a surprise gift!

A

n inevitable, yet surprising thing happens when all hearts and hands are called to build up the body of Christ: Members of the body share their gifts. Eight members of SPC have offered their gifts to surprise and delight you during the eight weeks of the 2024 Stewardship Campaign. To sprinkle a taste of surprise, joy, and gratitude throughout the campaign, once you make a 2024 stewardship pledge, your name will be entered into a weekly drawing for one of these surprise gifts. The earlier you make a pledge, the more weekly chances you will have to receive one of these gifts. Make your pledge today!

This Week’s Surprise Gift Winner!

The winner of this week’s surprise gift drawing is Ann Skeath! The gift of a handcrafted wood cutting board is generously given by SPC member Gregg VanGundy. Swarthmore Presbyterian Church thanks both giver and recipient for their generosity toward the 2024 Stewardship Campaign.
