L

ocal mission partner Chester Community Coalition, whose mission it is to provide trauma-based support for families grieving due to or injured by violence, is organizing the 2nd annual “Wear Orange” peace walk in Chester on the first Saturday of Gun Violence Awareness month. This year’s message focuses on “Rest and Recovery” as essential pillars in the Call to Action.

How Can You Help?

  1. Show up! The morning begins with the Peace Walk, honoring the lives of those lost to gun violence. The gathering will be at W. 9th Street & Kerlin at 9:30 am for a planned 10:00 am start. From 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in Martin Luther King Park (Engle Street, Chester), there will be speakers, food, games, music, dancing and more – concluding with a memorial butterfly release.
  2. Sign up to help with setup, takedown, and activities in the park!
  3. Spread the word to others, encouraging them to share in this celebration of all that is being done to support “Rest and Recovery” for those affected by gun violence!
