SPC: Together in Strength
On November 16, 1895, a committee appointed by the Presbytery of Chester met with twenty-four charter members and laid the groundwork for the congregation of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church. One year later, November 30, 1896, the newly completed Sanctuary was dedicated to the glory of God for use by the people of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church in service as a body of Christ. This Sunday, as we worship in that very Sanctuary, we celebrate those who have come before us, all who sustain the church and its mission today, and dare to dream about where God might be leading us in the years to come.

The entire church family – including extended church family members who once worshipped here — are invited this morning to worship together either in person or online. Revs. Joyce Shin, Sarah Cooper Searight and Alex Evangelista will all be present as worship leaders, active member Geoff Anderson will serve as our preacher, and in the 10:15 service the very newest members in a community of saints that numbers over 6000 will be joyfully welcomed to the church family. Thanks be to God!

Fellowship at 8:45 and 11:15 am / in Fellowship Hall and the Courtyard
Following each worship service this morning, we are invited to Fellowship Hall for conversation, sharing of stories, and simply getting to know one another. Copies of the 125th Anniversary edition of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church History will be available for those who wish them. Displays and signups for various Advent opportunities (including shopping lists for the Alternative Christmas Shop) will be found there as well. Beverages and refreshments will be available in the Courtyard.
