› Giving Thanks for Amy Connell!
Christian Formation Program Manager and Director of Volunteer Ministries
ust about a year ago, as Christian Formation Program Director Linda McCullough and her family prepared to move to Pittsburgh and the Minister Search Committee introduced us to Alex Evangelista, soon to accept the call to serve as Minister for Christian Formation, we found ourselves urgently in need of a calm, positive, and flexible individual with a heart for ministry, particularly to young children and their families. How blessed we have been that Amy Connell a long-time, faithful member of SPC, so readily stepped in to serve as Temporary Director of Christian Formation. For a year, Amy has welcomed new families and known each child by name. She has shepherded, taught, camped, prepared costumes, and played with the youngest among us, always sharing Christ’s love with them. She has also given guidance to our wonderful receptionists and equipped our Volunteer Ministry.
As a colleague, Amy was always ready to help, and her helpful spirit has been invaluable to our Christian Formation ministry amid staff transitions. She has been a supportive and patient colleague to Alex, to the Children’s Ministry Committee, and to all who worked with her along the way. It has been a joy for each of these groups to offer/create a few mementos and gifts in her honor as her time among us in this role draws to a close.
Amy’s last day in the office was Tuesday, June 30, but she will continue to be an active member of SPC, helping in ways large and small. Thank you, Amy!
