› SPC Visits Montreat

SPC knows Montreat, a conference center located in the Black Mountains of North Carolina, as a place where our youth and church musicians can go to be renewed at annual youth camps and Music & Worship conferences. This past week, a small group from Swarthmore Presbyterian Church went to Montreat to take part in a pilot Stewardship Renewal Initiative. Led by development professionals who have spent their careers helping congregations, this Montreat program invited cohorts, like ours, from thirteen Presbyterian churches for a two-part session held one year apart.

SPC was well-represented by two members of the Stewardship Committee, Jennifer Reynolds, chairperson, and Betty Ann Flynn as well as staff members Doug Wadas, Director of Communications, Jennifer Sharp, Director of Business Administration, and Joyce Shin, Pastor. Another cohort from SPC will return to Montreat in Spring of 2020 to complete our participation in this two-part piloted program. Thankful for the opportunity to participate, the Stewardship Committee will be curating and customizing stewardship practices for our beloved church.
