Moment for Stewardship: Children’s Ministry & Godly Play

W

ith children, love changes everything. When we enter the Godly Playroom, our children come into the loving presence of God. We share the deep wisdom of our sacred stories, Jesus’ parables, stories from his life and ministry, and explore the depths of the mysteries of worship. The love and presence of God is palpable in this space, and it changes how our children create with art supplies. The love in that room changes how they retell the stories in their own ways.

Through play, they’re applying scripture and theology into their complex and existential wondering. With love, we can see past the surface and catch a glimpse of what God is doing in their lives. God’s love has empowered us to build relationships with our nursery day school families, and through our love for these children, we have been invited to share Godly Play with them and invite them to embrace their innate spirituality.

Your pledge makes this kind of transformative love possible for the children of our congregation, and our wider community. Thank you.
