Moment for Stewardship: Robert Boswell
Recorded Sunday, December 21, 2025
n behalf of the Stewardship Committee, I’d like to thank all of you who have responded, and those of you who plan to respond before year’s end, to the 2026 Stewardship Campaign, “Love Changes Everything.” I’d also like to thank the members of the Stewardship Committee who continue to work towards the success of the Campaign on behalf of this church that we all count on. We’re in the home stretch.
At this time of the year, we’re constantly bombarded with messages regarding gifts. Comments like:
- “Finding that perfect gift.”
- “The last-minute gift.”
- “Did I get the right size?”
- “What’s the return policy?”
- And as Eddie from Christmas Vacation would say
“It’s the Gift that keeps on giving, Clark.”
And you know, there is one gift that distinguishes itself beyond all these messages, and that is your “pledge.”
Your pledge for the Stewardship 2026 campaign. Your pledge to be a steward of this church is what is important to this body of Christ. The whole Christian story can be viewed as a story of gift and grace. When we give and receive in the body of Christ, we learn that gifts are given without depletion or loss.
This is what distinguishes the gift of your stewardship pledge. Perhaps you wonder what a loving difference a modest pledge could make. Please do not feel that way. No financial pledge is too small (or large) because every pledge is generative. In fact, in that very spirit, a member of this body of Christ has generously offered an additional $10,000 to our stewardship campaign, if we can raise 30 additional pledges, new or increased, by December 31.
We hope you will help us to make the most of this opportunity by prayerfully making or increasing your stewardship pledge today. Thank you for adding your strength to the loving work of this body of Christ.
