Sunday Worship

We understand that each of us has a unique faith story and relates to God in a personal way. At SPC, we seek to worship God collectively in a way that makes room for personal spiritual growth and engages the voices of four generations. While our worship services, all in the Reformed tradition, offer distinct worship experiences, you’ll always find the Word of God at the center. And, of course, all of God’s children, of any age, are welcome in every service.

Worship in the Sanctuary

Meeting weekly at 10:15 am, this service embodies a more classic worship tradition. We proclaim the Word through liturgy, song, and preaching. We give glory to God through our music ministry. Music is led by our Chancel, Youth, and Children’s Choirs and is enhanced by our bell choir, pipe organ and grand piano.

Worship in the Chapel

Approximately twice a month at this 10:15 am service, participants are invited to worship God with hands and feet, as well as words, songs and silence. Elements of worship take many forms, from art to movement to quiet contemplation. Music is provided by the many talented vocalists and instrumentalists among us of every age, and is a joyful experience at each service.

Early Worship

This 45-minute service meets every Sunday at 8:00 am in Loeffler Chapel. In this service, you’ll find a more intimate and conversational worship experience. Worshipers are invited to engage with scripture through guided discussion, in lieu of a sermon, and to offer their intercessory prayers for the world.

Communion

The Presbyterian Church practices an open communion. Anyone who wants to know the love of Jesus Christ is invited to share in the Lord’s Supper. We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the 1st Sunday of each month in our 10:15 am services, and the 3rd Sunday of each month in our 8:00 am service.

Home Communion: We want to make sure that anyone who wishes to receive the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is able. With the help of our Deacons, communion is regularly brought into the homes of our members who are home-bound.

Would you like to receive home communion, or know someone who would? Are you an ordained elder or deacon and would like to participate in this ministry? If so, please contact Rev. Sarah Cooper Searight at Sarah.Cooper.Searight@swarthmorepres.org.

Fellowship Hour

Following 10:15 am worship, everyone is invited to gather in Fellowship Hall for light refreshments, beverages, and a bit of fellowship. While there, take advantage of the many displays by our many committees, providing you with details about their missions, and inviting you to share in their ministries.
