"But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving."
- Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 8, Verse 7
Our faith and our tradition calls upon Presbyterians to support, with joy and responsibility, our Church and its work in the world. The support of hundreds of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church families provides the greatest part of our annual budget. Our members are blessed, and in turn, their generosity blesses the Church and the community we serve, within and outside our congregation.
"Your Pledge in Action" is our theme to direct and encourage giving. Throughout the year, we share news with our fellow members on the ways in which the support of our congregation makes the work of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church possible. In 2009 our pledges have made possible an extraordinary year at SPC.
The 2010 Annual Giving campaign is outlined on our Annual Giving page.
Thoughtful Commitment and Budget Challenges
Members of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church's active and joyful church community know that Fall is a season that provides abundant opportunities to put faith into action! We invite you to take part in SPC's educational courses and programs, to be open to the prospect of serving on a committee, and to contemplate how you can help our church expand its work in the coming year through your giving.
SPC puts its financial resources (comprised primarily of members' pledges) into action through a thoughtful, collaborative budget process that continues through the end of the fiscal year. We remain committed to offering vibrant and effective programs and realize that the disciplined stewardship of our funds is particularly crucial in the difficult economic conditions we are now experiencing. As we now consider our 2010 pledges, let us do so with the assurance that our financial commitments enable SPC to keep its commitment to share the love of Christ with friends and neighbors far and near.
