Fall Fair Donations

Money raised through SPC's Fall Fair is counted on each year to add significant resources to the budget.  Much of what is raised comes from the donation of goods from members of the community.  Most items are collected at two drop-offs per year in the church parking lot, usually one in May and one in September.

Drop-offs for our 2011 Fall Fair :

Saturday, May 21 - 9 am to 12 noon.

Saturday, September 17, 2011 - 9 am to 12 noon.

A list of booths and what they will be collecting follows; there are two important exceptions:

1) Fine furniture (for example book cases, all kinds of tables (end, coffee, kitchen, etc.), chests, and chairs), are collected throughout the year and stored  - or restored, if necessary, by church volunteers - for sale.

2) If you are moving or cleaning out a house, after your kids have taken what they want, let us help you deal with the rest. Your junk could be SPC's treasure (and your tax deduction!).  We can pick up items if necessary.

Please call Jean Stock (fall fair directory - login required); she is happy to make arrangements regarding these exceptions.

Below, each Fall Fair booth describes what donations they are looking to collect at the drop-offs.  For contact information please visit our fall fair directory (login required).

Flea Market (Lynn Palmer Gee & Abbie Rowley, co-chairs)

What you no longer use, someone else will!  We are seeking: kitchen wares (except for knives); small appliances; baking pans;  mugs; costume or quality jewelry; handbags; garden tools; household and holiday decor; lamps; craft materials; yarn; and fabric.  Please make sure items are clean and still working!

Please no clothing, baskets, computer or office equipment, hospital equipment, TV's, VCR's or glassware!

Furniture and other large or heavy items should be held until the Friday before the fair.

Toys & Sporting Goods (Ali Holsinger & Michele Venuto, co-chairs)

We are looking for outgrown/used sporting equipment in good condition for children or adults.  We are also looking for puzzles, games, legos, dolls, toys, dress-up/Halloween outfits, and other kid-related items in clean, working order.  Plus, all baby gear and toys.  Please only donate electronic games in perfect working order, with batteries (if required).

Bikes, strollers and other large or heavy items should be held until the Friday before the fair.  No golf clubs please.
No stuffed animals, please.

Collectibles and Auction (Jean Stock, chair)

We are looking for coffee tables, side tables, chests, crystal, old linens, china, quilts, iron skillets or pots, oil paintings, and any size oriental rugs.  Anything wooden!

Special arrangements should be made for large furniture, please contact Jean Stock.

Books (Kathy Rocci, chair)

Novels (especially paperbacks), recent reference books, craft and cooking books, classics, sheet music, children's books, recent software, and DVDs are particularly welcome. Please no textbooks, magazines, records, or VHS tapes.

SPC Bazaar (Jodi Dawes, chair)

If you paint, knit, sew, do ceramics, design exotic kites, create unique lamps, craft wonderful Christmas ornaments, turn scrap metal into works of art or do pretty much anything artistic and original, we would like to sell it at the fair!  You can bring your items to a drop-off, leave them in the church office the week before the fair, or contact Jodi Dawes.

Jewelry and Accessories (Susanne Smith & Francie Zimmerman, co-chairs)

This booth is a mecca of scarves, upscale and interesting handbags, and, of course, jewelry.  Costume jewelry, interesting silver pieces, and even jewel boxes are needed.  Please be sure all pieces are in good condition; they may have outgrown their usefulness to you but need to appeal to someone else.  They will accept donations right up to the day before the fair.

SPC Pantry (Jane Duffy, chair)

The SPC Pantry sells culinary creations of great variety.  Those who turn fresh fruits and vegetables into delicious preserves or dried treats are encouraged to donate some of these treasures for sale at the Fair.  Dried soup makings and attractive jars filled with all the ingredients needed to bake your favorite homemade cookies are also popular.  And absolutely nothing draws shoppers like the aroma of fresh baked goods!  From gourmet pies to chewy brownies, they are all better fresh from your oven.  Donations of canned and dried good are welcome any time in the church office.  Fresh baked good are best delivered the day before the fair.
