Coffee and Fellowship
"We took sweet fellowship together. We walked in God's house with company."
- Psalms 55:14
Each Sunday from 11:30 to noon, following the 10:15 am Worship Service, SPC offers 'Coffee and Fellowship' in Fellowship Hall. All are welcome, especially newcomers! This is a chance to meet and chat with other church members, get information on SPC events, and sign up for Outreach, Mission, and Spiritual Growth programs over a congenial cup of our Fair Trade coffee.
At Christmas and Easter Festive Fellowship, delicious cookies provided by members of the congregation are also served. The Sunday before Thanksgiving is Pie Share day, where we start Thanksgiving early by having dessert with friends. During the summer months punch is served instead of coffee. Fellowship may also include celebrations of special events in the life of our church – such as welcoming new members or thanking our volunteer church school teachers. Each September, SPC's 'Welcome Back Picnic' replaces regular Coffee and Fellowship to greet church members as they return from far-flung and nearby summer activities. And for four Sundays before Christmas, the Alternative Christmas Shop takes center stage in Fellowship Hall.
On the second Sunday of each month members of our Peacemaking committee have a table where Fair Trade coffees and teas may be purchased. On many Sundays there is also a table where Palestinian olive oil may be purchased.
