Church Resources

At SPC, we try to provide our members with resources that meet their needs and enhance our ministry of care. We hope you will take advantage of these many resources, thoughtfully provided and maintained by the caring members of SPC.

Libraries

McQuade Library
The McQuade Library, located in the Loeffler Chapel hallway, is one of the more inviting spaces at SPC and is the home of a wonderful collection of faith-related books. We feature both contemporary works and the classics, most of which are available to be checked out and taken home.

The most recent addition to the McQuade Library is a seven-volume reproduction of The Saint John’s Bible. Gifted to SPC by member Grant Grissom in loving memory of his wife Gay Grissom, The Saint John’s Bible is a remarkable work of art that illuminates the text of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible using the age-old craft of calligraphy, quilted skillfully with and through modern digital imagery.

Children’s Library
The children’s library is upstairs, right next to McCahan Hall. The open and sunny library offers a large variety of faith-based books that entertain while teaching children about God. Anyone is welcome to sit in this warm, comfortable place to read. Children must have a library card to check out materials. Please e-mail Amy Connell at amy.connell@swarthmorepres.org to get a card for your child.^

Lectionary

Daily or Weekly Scripture Readings
Lectionary readings provide a disciplined way to read through the Bible. The lectionary that we follow at SPC is from the Revised Common Lectionary and is divided into a 3-year lectionary cycle. If you would like to sign up to receive daily e-mails of the lectionary readings, please contact parish@swarthmorepres.org.

Mourning

The Book of Saints, found on display just outside Loeffler Chapel, contains memorials of deceased members prepared by their families. Families are encouraged to submit their unique and personal memorials of loved ones; contributions are curated by the Memorials and Gifts Committee.
