Childcare
The Nursery - open Sundays 9 am through 12 noon (& by request at other times)
for infants and toddlers
Our nursery is headed by Serena Kuney, a first-grade school teacher during the week. Serena has worked in our nursery room for many years and has two young children of her own. In addition to providing a snack and play time, Serena uses activities from the infant version of FaithWeaver (see Children's Education for more details on this curriculum). This is not a lesson, but rather a way to tie in Biblical stories with infant play.
The Nursery is available during the Christian education hour from 9 to 10 am, and continues to provide care through the 10:15 am traditional worship service and "Coffee and Fellowship" after the service. For special events, the nursery is usually open upon request.
Children age 2 through 5th grade
Children age 2 and 3 attend our Genesis Church School class throughout the 10:15am worship service. Children age 4 through 5th grade attend Church School as well, leaving the santuary about 15 minutes into the 10:15am worship service, after the children's sermon known as A Time with Children. For more information, please visit out Children's Education section.
Summer Schedule - June through Labor Day
Our summer schedule starts in June and last through the first weekend in September (Labor Day Weekend). Sunday morning offerings for children include childcare for infants and toddlers and up to age three in the nursery during the 10:15 am worship service. For children ages four through 2nd grade, there is childcare after a Time with Children, about 15 minutes into the 10:15 am summer worship service.
Children in Worship
For all children, and in particular for children who stay in the sanctuary through the whole worship service, please read our section entitled Children in Worship for tips on getting the most out of a Sunday worship service.
