Chester’s Co-op Link serves as a link between the Chester Co-op and Swarthmore Presbyterian Church.
The last supermarket left the city of Chester 17 years ago, and the Chester Co-op was formed in March 2006 in response to the community’s desire for quality and healthy produce and groceries at affordable prices.
The Chester Co-op is usually open on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. However, hours can increase or decrease depending on traffic in the store. The market sells fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, juices, eggs, butter and cheese. The Co-op rents space on Edgemont but is in the process of securing a building which will need significant improvements and provide future opportunities for members of SPC to become involved.
