Just a week or two after closing their schoolbooks for the year, 13 of our high school youth and 6 adult chaperones spent a week of their summers helping the good people of Perry County, Kentucky to make their homes safer and more hospitable.  Through the auspices of ASP (Appalachia Service Project) this year's trip participants experienced for themselves that giving and receiving are inseparable.  Thanks to all who made this possible - the adults who sponsored SPC's delegation, the men and women of Kentucky who welcomed strangers, and those who chose to spend their days in an unfamiliar place learning and growing together.
