What is it?

Every three years, thousands of high schoolers from our denomination (the Presbyterian Church USA) and two other denominations gather for a huge 5-day-long party/festival/youth group/worship experience/chance to make new friends/service opportunity/party.   It's called a youth conference and it will change everything you know about church.

Who is involved?

Youth Triennium is for current 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th graders.  We meet Presbyterian youth groups from all over the country, often more than 1,000 folks total.  For that week, we become one big, fabulous youth group.  Wetraveled this summer with other youth and adults from our area (the Philadelphia Presbytery).

How is it organized?

Visit the website!!!  The theme this year is "For Such a Time as This."  And the Philadelphia delegation had quite a time!

Tell me More?

In Ellen K's words (she went in '07): “One of the most meaningfulTriennium experiences for me was the outdoor, nighttime candlelight service (again, think of the scope...thousands of lit candles, covering a hillside at night....). Never have I felt such a connection to God and the people around me than on that night. I would make the trek to Indianaall over in a eartbeat just to experience that beautiful service again.  Other highlights of the trip include the ’70s themed dance, picnicing with my small group, walking around the campus singing Bohemian Rhapsody at the top of my lungs with friends and trading pins with people from around the country. But yeah, Triennium is ridiculously fun and an awesome experience. Just do it. No, seriously. Just do it.”

What do we do?

Every day, there will be chances to share, question, pray, create, sing, play, reflect, relax, dance, worship, grow, make new friends and become better friends with those you already know. Our days will include a keynote presentation of the theme in the morning and a worship service in the evening. There are also small group gathering times and down time.
