Outreach & Mission
Called by Jesus, members of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church offer help, hope and encouragement to a broad spectrum of people in need both locally and worldwide. The Outreach Committee serves as the facilitator for this powerful, energizing and humbling work.
Mission awareness is a critical aspect of Outreach. Outreach responsibility goes beyond the distribution of funds. We seek to get to know our mission partners and together work to fulfill their goals as well as to provide financial help, and we seek to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for our church membership. These opportunities can be individual or group projects and can be long-term or immediate in nature. SPC provides intergenerational mission opportunities such as the annual Martin Luther King, Jr, Day of Service.
We invite all to visit our Local Outreach page to learn more about our Outreach Mission Partners, listed below, and see how you can make a difference:
- A Better Chance – Strath Haven
- Chester Eastside Ministries
- Chester Fund/School for the Arts
- Frederick Douglass School
Each month, Outreach presents a “Moment for Mission” during the 10:15 am worship service to provide a closer look at one of our local mission partners or another opportunity for outreach service at SPC.
Still not sure how to help?
If you are moved to provide financial support to any of our Outreach projects, please view our Designated Gifts page for instructions.
