Parish Administrator/Director of Volunteer Ministries
Dorrie is the first person to start with if you have a question about almost anything at SPC. She answers the phone, responds to your email, maintains the church calendar and the website, coordinates room usage, provides administrative support to our committees and volunteer groups, keeps our database current, edits and produces our worship bulletins, and often keeps chocolate in the candy dish! Dorrie is an active member who sings in the Chancel Choir, serves as one of our cantors, and coordinates offertory music for Chapel Worship. If you have a question or need information and don't know who else to ask, start with Dorrie.
Director of Business Administration
The person in this role is the nerve center for all of the money that flows in and out of SPC coffers; from the change collected in hunger jars to large bequests, he/she sees that all records of income and expenses are posted accurately and deposited or disbursed in a timely manner. The Business Administrator prepares the monthly financial reports used by session and many of our committees as well as our critical year-end reports. She/he keeps our insurance policies up to date, works closely with our auditors to ensure that we are in compliance with both our own bylaws and all government legislation, and in conjunction with the Finance committee and Session as they prepare monitor our annual budget. The Business Administrator is at the hub of all committee activities that involve major spending - from building projects to the disbursement of Outreach funds to payroll.
Director of Children's Ministry
A child of the church, Ashley has been active in a variety of roles since she was 7 years old. In her role as Children's Ministry Coordinator, Ashley coordinates all of our children's programs, including church school for children through 5th grade and childcare for infants and toddlers. She works closely with the Children's Education Committee selecting curricula, scheduling teachers, and responding to feedback on issues ranging from schedules to classroom supplies to snack requests. She is the shepherdess that makes sure both teachers and children have what they need for their classes on Sunday morning. The Children's Ministry Coordinator also administrates seasonal activities for children and the childcare provided during our Lenten Tenebrae service and the Annual Meeting. If you are willing to help in a classroom (we are always in search of helpers - even those that can only commit to a few weeks) or have questions about church school, childcare, or need an accommodation for a child with disabilities, please contact Ashley.
Jean is the newest member of the church staff. She works closely with Jennifer Vincent; ensuring that our bills are paid on time, managing payroll both for church staff and NDS, recording contributions to memorial funds, acknowledging gifts, and preparing quarterly contribution statements. Jean will always make time to listen to your questions and concerns and track down the answer you need.
Director of Communications
Ali oversees all areas of SPC communication. She is the designer and publisher of our
bi-monthly newsletter, the Herald, writes the weekly notes that keep congregants well-informed, and her skills as a graphic artist are helpful to all ministries, as they work with her to produce flyers and brochures to support their efforts. Ali works closely with local media to see that events of community interest are well publicized and has a hand in our presence on Facebook. The familiar rose window, deep blue background, and mission statement quote at the top of each webpage are her design. Ali is also the mother of two children that keep her busy on the home front.

As Director of Music Ministries, Meghan will be playing an active role in the planning and support of all musical efforts. Her most visible roles are those of director of each of our choirs (Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, Children's Choir, Youth Choir) and organist. Behind the scenes she will be will be working closely with our pastoral staff in planning weekly worship so that what we experience on Sunday morning is focused and cohesive. If you are interested in joining the any of our choirs or have any questions related to our music programs, contact Meghan (after August 21).
John is the quintessential "maintenance man." If something is broken, he repairs it; if something needs building, he builds it. His visible role on Sunday as the one-armed-paperhanger who makes sure all doors are open, lights on, classrooms set up, flipcharts and appropriate equipment in place, and spaces converted as schedule dictates (while most of are enjoying worship, John is transforming Fellowship Hall from a classroom to a space for coffee and various displays), is but the tip of the iceberg. All week long John is the "glue" that keeps our busy calendar of meetings and events from unraveling. Never ask what his hours really are; he is simply here when we need him. And we are grateful.
Greg is the one-man wonder who works a full day at SPC every Tuesday in addition to his full-time job at what we have come to refer to as the "other church" (Trinity Episcopal Church). In addition to cleaning the sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, and all staff offices, Greg can often be seen taking food donations to someone's car for transport to Chester Eastside, setting up tables & chairs on committee nights, and generally helping wherever an extra hand is needed.
John is another well-kept secret to the cleanliness and accessiblity of our building. John works 6 afternoons a week, primarily cleaning the Nursery School domain. He is also the reason that the building is open for evening meetings, Loeffler Chapel is arranged for choir rehearsals, and a variety of other groups find this to be a welcoming place.
Jim is an active church member and serves as president of the Chancel Choir in addition to being our Sunday sexton. Turning on the lights, setting out the flowers and bulletins, changing the banner and linens, setting up the hymn boards, and making sure the Bible is open to the first reading are just some of the many details to which Jim attends so that the sanctuary is in order for worship each Sunday. He also serves as ex-officio to the Worship and Music Committee, where his input both as sexton and Choir President and his compulsive attention to detail coupled with a mega-gig memory are invaluable.
Nursery Day School Director
Debby serves as both Director and one of the teachers in SPNDS and may be contacted with any questions related to the school.
